GERALD K H PIGGOTT

Being born in Wales to welsh parent's, the Welsh landscape has naturally, exerted an attraction to me. I regard the rural landscape as an affirmation of harmony and spirituality, as well as fortitude. Fascinated by the grace and conformity of nature, my drawings are mainly, created with the use of charcoal and ink for expressive, emotional freedom or pen for a more intricate approach.

I always like to experiment with different drawing media, and have recently explored the use of digital artwork. I aim to evoke freshness, spontaneity and atmosphere in my drawings. The landscape is constantly changing which is juxtaposed with the construction of buildings, and I enjoy discovering areas that have become neglected and hidden away, until discovered and drawn before they are lost forever.

I studied Architecture and Engineering and also Art and Design at College and graduated from Cardiff University with a Degree in Industrial Design in 2001, prior to this, and currently, I produce architectural drawings and traditional/ digital artwork for local commissions. I am a member of the Royal Guild of Graduates and my work has been commended at exhibitions.
